This summer, my husband and I plan on getting reacquainted with one another… on the beaches of [READ LIKE A GAME SHOW ANNOUNCER] Cabo! San! Lucas!
I don’t know why, but I thought that as my kids got older, my husband and I would have more time together. Turns out, it doesn’t exactly work like that. For one thing, older kids means later bedtimes, so that after-the-kids-go-to-sleep chunk of the night is now no more… my oldest usually puts me to bed. And then there’s the simple fact that we love spending time with them. The religiously-kept date night we used to covet has given way to Saturday nights out with the kids— they eat later, love to try new places, and they’re just fun to be with.
All that put together means we have a lot of family fun, but our one-on-one time seems to be in shorter supply. So, months ago, we planned ourselves a little getaway weekend after the kids went to sleepaway camp, and that day is finally HERE!
We’ll be heading to Cabo for the weekend, and I am counting the minutes til takeoff! Here are a few things I’ll be wearing in Mexico:
And here is some of the tech I’ll be packing. Notice there’s no laptop or tablet in the pile. I’m going to do a little conscious uncoupling from my gadgets, and reconnect with my S.O.
You guys: Do you have any restaurant recommendations? Fun things to see when I’m there? I’m a Mexico newbie, so please tell me what to do while we’re away!
