Giveaway • Belkin Smart Slow Cooker

Slow cooker giveaway

Recently, I have fallen into a bit of a rut preparing dinner— I think I’ve simply run out of ideas— and my kids are taking notice. I don’t own a crockpot, but it feels like the answer to all my problems. The fantasy that somehow, with a little work (emphasis on little), a hot dinner could be ready and waiting for us at 6pm is just too good to be true.  Plus, during these winter months, I crave something warm and hearty at night, and a slow cooker delivers.

Belkin smart slow cooker

This week, we’re giving away a Belkin Connected Crock Pot for TWO lucky winners, and not only do they help you get dinner on the table, but they’re smart to boot— sync the slow cooker to the free WeMo app (Android or iPhone), and you can control it with an app from wherever you are.  This is super-convenient if you get held up at work and need to shut it down before your dinner reduces to a thick paste— you can adjusting and monitoring the temperature and cooking time, or turn it off from anywhere.

I’ve also included some slow cooker recipes that look fantastic just below the giveaway widget to get you inspired, so scroll down to check those out too!

Entry instructions are just below in the widget.  You can earn extra entries by following me on Pinterest, Twitter, or signing up for my newsletter too. Our contest ends on December 8th at 11:59p. Good luck and happy slow cooking!

Drum roll please… the winners are Karen M. and Elle G. ! Congrats Karen and Elle, and happy cooking!

My favorite (extremely easy) Crockpot recipe:

1 1/2 lbs raw skinless chicken tenders
    1/4 tsp garlic powder
    1/8 tsp oregano
    1/8 tsp ground cumin
    salt, to taste
    16 oz roasted salsa verde

Season chicken with garlic powder, oregano, cumin and salt and place in the bottom of the slow cooker. Cover with salsa verde, cover and cook HIGH 2 hours.

I used the chicken in tacos and added avocado, cheese, etc. Delicious!

No recipes to share because I still don’t have a slow cooker! Like you, I’m thinking this would solve all my recipe rut issues (new recipes! adapting old ones!, easy clean-up!) I have been toying with the idea of getting a slow cooker for 3 years and am still trying to figure out which one would be best for my needs.

I LOVE using my crock pot. I have numerous recipes that I use. I just fill it up, turn it on and head on to work that morning and have a steaming hot yummy meal when I get home. I have however, burned some thing in a crock pot…this would be an awesome feature to have to be able to turn it off while I am at work! 🙂
